Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in Gdansk conducts post-graduate studies in:

INTERNATIONAL MEETINGS MANAGEMENT (in Polish; part time)

Academy of Tourism and Hotel Management in Gdańsk as the only university in Poland offers a new specialty, related to meetings industry, taught entirely in English and called International Meetings Management (IMM). It starts in September.
Meetings industry is growing rapidly in Poland. This means a growing demand for professionals who will be able to help companies and institutional clients in choosing the right place for a conference, congress or an incentive trip, as well as organize this type of service. Lectures in English are attractive for both international and Polish students, because the language of the conferences is English and the knowledge gained at the Academy will be useful in Poland, but also abroad.
The academic staff is a team of experts from hotel industry, international tourism organizations, local government and event organizers. The Academy will also guest lectures from cooperating international universities.
Specialty subjects will include “Management and organization of the meetings industry", "Effective marketing” "E-commerce and social media in tourism" and "New trends in the meetings industry".A supervisor of IMM became Mrs. Anna Gorska, initiator of the project, a member of MPI (Meeting Professionals International) Poland, ICCA (International Congress & Convention Association) Central European Chapter Chairperson, Business Development Director at EXPO XXI Warsaw. Students will also have a chance to become members of the MPI, participate in national and international conferences, gain international scholarships.
Specialty IMM is under the patronage of the most important media in Poland associated to the meetings industry, MICE Poland magazine and www.meetingplanner.pl as well as MPI Poland.

MANAGEMENT IN TOURISM AND HOTEL INDUSTRY (in Polish, part time)

The programme "Management in Tourism and Hotel Industry" is offered to people with a university degree (Bachelor's, Master's or Engineer's) who provide or intend to provide services for tourists as well as for representatives of state and local government structures.
The aim of the programme "Management in Tourism and Hotel Industry" is acquaintance with new trends in organizing and managing tourist and hotel businesses functioning on highly competitive global market.

Practical studies of: working out business-plan and advertising campaign projects, marketing research, public relations, conducting efficient negotiations, strategic management, finance management, services quality management.

Classes are led by highly qualified and experienced scientific staff.
Studies take 2 semesters in part-time system. Sessions are scheduled every second weekend.

GRADUATES

Students who complete the studies receive Certificate of Completing Post-Graduate Studies. Graduates acquire knowledge and skills in the domains of:

- basics of economy and law,
- market mechanisms in tourism and hotel industry,
- functioning of business entities in tourism and recreation,
- employment market and human resources management,
- setting up and running a business,
- marketing,
- strategic management, finance management, services quality management,
- the art of negotiations, advertising and diplomacy.

SPA & WELLNESS MANAGER (in Polish; part time)

Studies are directed at people with a university degree (Bachelor's, Master's or Engineer's) who manage SPA Centers in hotels, Day SPA, fitness clubs, physical regeneration salons, beauty salons/parlours, health resorts, sanatoriums, and at those who have a predisposition to take the managing positions in future.

The aim of the programme is to get acquainted with issuses of management, marketing, designing SPA buildings, financing investments, improving quality of services, quality control and certification of SPA Centers.
Graduates of these studies will possess knowledge within a range of current trends and novelties of SPA&Wellness market as well as gain practical knowledge of organizing and managing SPA Centers.

Classes are led by highly qualified and experienced scientific staff.
Studies take 2 semesters in a part-time system. Sessions are scheduled every second weekend.
 

DIETETICS (in Polish; part time)

The major aim of the studies is to equip the students with the current theoretical and practical knowledge in the field of dietetics - individual and group nutrition oriented at healthy and sick people.
The graduate will receive theoretical and practical preparation concerning:
- human anatomy and physiology
- human nutrition with elements of food and nourishment biochemistry
- diet prophylaxis and diet therapy in selected diseases
- nourishment in sport
- evaluation of nourishment methods and the state of nutrition
- role of education and diet consulting in changing nourishment habits
- role of diet in bio-regeneration
- technological aspects of preparing dishes
- sanitary supervision of group nutrition

The graduate of post-graduate studies will be a specialist in the field of dietetics, capable of independently giving advice concerning dietetics and nutrition prophylaxis, as well as planning nourishment and supervising group catering facilities that offer meals both for healthy and sick people.
